Less than two years ago the two giants xbox one and ps4 launched their consoles. They were greeted by extreme excitement. Then something happen that most expected, ps4 took over fast in sales thanks to spec advantages. These spec advantages led people to see more power dwelling inside the ps4 and more ease of development from developers. Xbox one answered back specs with exclusive games that dominated in looks despite specs it didn’t have against ps4.

However once all the smoke cleared the ps4 still had more sells everywhere and was available in more areas in the world along with a huge third party graphic advantage for resolution. The biggest most dominate area was Europe. Europe unlike the U.S didn’t have any trouble whatsoever in picking their favorite console and hasn’t looked back once. This led to a home base advantage in Europe like playstation had in Japan. Mix this with a 10 month NPD domination on Microsoft own home turf and what you have is a difference in sales that were and are in the millions. So, what led to this? A poll was taken and it was the resolution and power difference ps4 has over xbox one. Despite microsoft’s campaign to discount twice making the xbox one cheaper than ps4, Xbox still lost. Xbox one gave great AAA titles for free with the console and they lost. Xbox one got rid of kinect and offered online memberships for free or at discounted rates and xbox one still lost. Meanwhile, ps4 continues even now to dominate and still hasn’t made one discount on the console regular price. They have dominated, selling almost 70,000 ps4 per region per week at times. Microsoft again has tried to answer back with exclusives however these new set of exclusives seem to have a major issue with them. They’re mostly timed and are still heading for the ps4. On top of this no change whatsoever still on the resolutions and performance difference found in third party games after over a year of changes and familiar hardware time placed on the xbox one by developers. So what does this mean? Well as a dual console owner I love having both as my option when I need it. However this has nothing to do with what is the pure simple truth. Xbox one, while still good and successful in its own right will never beat the ps4.

Truth two; it is truly the weakest system of the two consoles in terms of graphics and sure power. We as xbox one fan need to admit this to ourselves because this is fact. Even if the difference is small at times it’s still a difference and that difference still shows up as a better result on the ps4 side of things. We can’t say anymore that developers need more time figuring out the xbox one as a excuse any longer. They know how to use it and obviously they can’t do what they can with the ps4. So let’s be honest for once. Now, should a perfectly happy xbox one fan trade in their console? Absolutely not! If you are happy don’t listen to anyone about what should make you happy but you. But I’m sorry I can’t in right concoius tell a buyer looking to buy one of the two that ps4 shouldn’t be their first consideration because it hands down should be. Now, if they still decide to get the xbox one it’s not like they will be mad at what they have. They will be happy as long as they know what they are getting it for and what it does or doesn’t do well. Even though I hate for any one console to rule, ps4 is truly the ruler of this new generation already and it will not change. Ps4 is king of the video world for this generation. Lets stop debating this now , its not even worth looking stupid over. Game over, thanks for playing, Ps4 has won.
